On Tuesday, December 5th, the Strategic Growth Council (SGC) awarded $33,962,403 to fund 25 agricultural conservation easements and two strategy and outcome grants funded through the Sustainable Agricultural Lands Conservation Program (SALC).
Assembly Bill 109 allocated $11 million in Cap-and-Trade funds to the Strategic Growth Council for the development of a climate change research program.

We are pleased to announce the creation of the Strategic Growth Council’s new Climate Change Research Program. We will release a draft version of the Research Investment Plan on November 15, which will describe how the Council plans to direct $11 million in competitive grant funding.
The Transformative Climate Communities (TCC) Program received seven (7) Concept Proposals for Implementation Grants.
The California Biodiversity Council (CBC) will hold their 2017 Fall meeting on Nov 13-14 in the South San Francisco Bay Area region near Gilroy and Hollister. The theme for this meeting is Mainstreaming the Integrated Regional Conservation and Development Program. The Integrated Regional Conservation and Development (IRCAD) program is being coordinated by the Strategic Growth Council to pave the way to an improved regional planning approach that makes better use of existing conservation information. This program has been supported through resolutions of the Strategic Growth Council and the California Biodiversity Council. This meeting will review the program and document the significant process that has been made to advance this initiative.

The Strategic Growth Council adopted the Final Transformative Climate Communities (TCC) Program Guidelines at the August 24 Council Meeting.

The fourth revision of the Draft Guidelines for the Transformative Climate Communities (TCC) Program is being made available for public comment. This release presents a revised draft program framework that includes updated requirements applicants must meet for implementation and planning grants. This new draft does not represent the full proposed guidelines for the Program.

The Strategic Growth Council announces the release of a Request for Proposal (RFP) for SGC’s Affordable Housing & Sustainable Communities (AHSC) Technical Assistance Program. If you are interested in providing technical assistance to applicants for the AHSC program, please submit a response to the SGC no later than Friday June 2, 2017.
As AHSC Program Staff work to further strengthen and simplify the AHSC program, various program requirements are considered and refined. One change under consideration could have significant implications for various projects across the state. Since the proposed change occurred after the formal April 14th public comment deadline, staff are initiating a separate comment period to collect feedback on this proposal prior to finalizing the 2016-2017 AHSC Program Guidelines.

The Strategic Growth Council announces the release of a Request for Information (RFI) for SGC’s California Climate Investments (CCI) Outreach & Technical Assistance Program. If you are interested in providing technical assistance to applicants for any of the State’s California Climate Investment programs, please submit a response to the SGC no later than April 20, 2017 at 4:00 pm. Failure to respond to this RFI does not preclude participation in any future solicitations associated with the CCI Outreach and Technical Assistance program, but your response is highly encouraged.
