Program Associate, Transformative Climate Communities Program (TCC)

This position will focus on outreach and engagement for future award recipients! TCC has invested over $230 million in neighborhood resilience projects in California's most under resourced communities and will invest $400 million more over the next few years. The Program Associate will focus on outreach and stakeholder engagement and will work with state partners and program applicants on the development of program guidelines and the selection of future award recipients. The Associate will also support the implementation of awarded grants. The Associate should understand planning and policy, be detail oriented and organized, and have strong skills communicating effectively with a range of partners and stakeholders.

The Strategic Engagement Specialist will have the unique opportunity work on interagency research-to-policy process, providing dynamic leadership and innovative creativity that ensures California's Fifth Climate Change Assessment (Fifth Assessment) is a global model in actionable, partnership-based, climate science. This position will lead the engagement strategy and process that will be incorporated into all aspects of the Fifth Assessment. To support engagement, the individual will be responsible for developing, designing, and expanding community-driven understanding and priorities related to climate resiliency and equity into Fifth Assessment research and products.

SGC's newest program, CRC, is hiring a Program Associate to help build this grant program. Allocated $100 million over two rounds, the CRC program will fund upgrades and new construction of neighborhood-level resilience centers for emergencies, in addition to year-round ongoing programming. If you are passionate about inclusive communications and working closely with local diverse communities strengthening community and climate resilience across the state, please apply!

This position will lead CRC communications; support program development, implementation, outreach, and technical assistance; and work closely with various teams, applicants, grantees, and contractors. The team is especially interested in candidates with experience in communications and outreach; local community work, especially with vulnerable communities; and a strong climate equity and resilience lens.

SGC’s CACE Program is seeking a Program Analyst who will work with technical assistance providers and recipients, program grantees, and other stakeholders to ensure successful development, implementation, and evaluation of SGC’s technical assistance and capacity building programs.

This position will work within the CACE team, which provides technical assistance and capacity building services to help under-resourced communities access critical funding resources, implement high-impact projects, and enact community-led initiatives. This position represents an opportunity to make significant impact across California communities, particularly those impacted by social, environmental, and racial injustices, to build capacity and increase access to critical resources. The position will work to expand SGC’s commitment to technical assistance as a key equity strategy and will engage in the development and implementation of innovative pilot initiatives and grant programs that center the needs of under-resourced communities. The Analyst classification requires a level of experience in project coordination and management, evaluation and tracking, and a strong ability to both work as part of a team and independently.
