Five staff representing various California Strategic Growth Council (SGC) and Governor’s Office of Land Use and Climate Innovation programs will spend the next four days in Anchorage, Alaska collaborating with other national and Tribal partners on ways to advance climate resiliency in Indigenous communities at the National Tribal & Indigenous Climate Conference (NTICC).
The theme of this year's third biennial NTICC is "Shared Responsibility for Indigenous Climate Resilience." Members of SGC’s leadership team, the Community Resilience Centers program, Community Assistance for Climate Equity Program, and the Governor’s Office of Land Use and Climate Innovation’s Sr. Tribal Research Engagement Specialist will spend the week strengthening their understanding of specific climate issues facing the nation’s Indigenous communities. The goal, learning how California can make a greater impact in this space for Native American Tribes within the state.
I am humbled at the opportunity to build relationships with Tribes from across the country and am looking forward to grounding in Indigenous-led projects and knowledge around climate resilience," said Hoi-Fei Mok, SGC’s Deputy Director of Equity and Government Transformation.
SGC and the Governor’s Office of Land Use and Climate Innovation will be highlighting the NTICC event all week on social media. Follow along and stay informed!
