The California Strategic Growth Council (SGC) is currently recruiting members for a new Advisory Committee to the Agricultural Land Equity Task Force. Advisory Committee
The SGC is looking for individuals with experience and knowledge related to land access, acquisition, and land return who are interested in joining an Advisory Committee (AC), which will contribute subject area expertise and research capacity to the California Agricultural Land Equity Task Force (Task Force). AC members will serve as a resource to Task Force members by sharing and building knowledge, and drafting, reviewing, and providing feedback on the Task Force’s draft recommendations. The AC members will contribute to this work in a way that ensures equity, impact, and efficacy of the final recommendations. We seek expertise including, but not limited to, agricultural land access, financing land transitions, historical and contemporary trends in land ownership and dispossession, legal and political structures, real estate, technical assistance, and resource access for communities that have historically been excluded.
About the California Agricultural Land Equity Task Force
The Task Force is developing recommendations to equitably increase access to agricultural land for food production and traditional tribal agricultural uses in California. The 13 -member Task Force meets quarterly and will deliver a report of recommendations to the Legislature and Governor by Jan. 1, 2026. You can learn more about the Task Force on the SGC website. The SGC administers and supports the Task Force with meeting facilitation and research, among other activities.
Advisory Committee Commitment
- Timeline: January 2025–January 2026
- Total hours: Approximately 40 hours total
- AC members will be compensated on an hourly basis.
