Announcement SGC is Hiring: 3 New Positions in the Health and Equity Program

Published:

The California Strategic Growth Council is excited to invite applications for three new health equity and racial equity positions! In a show of support from the legislature and Governor, this year’s state budget allocated funds to establish this new SGC team in order to ensure the long-term stability and effectiveness of the Health in All Policies (HiAP) Task Force and the broad range of health and racial equity work that it has spurred. As part of the multi-agency HiAP Initiative, this new Health and Equity Program team will work closely with HiAP staff at the California Department of Public Health and Public Health Institute, supporting multi-agency collaboration to advance health and equity across all policy fields, and embedding equity and health priorities into SGC’s own programs.

The open positions are:

  • Health and Equity Program Manager

The Program Manager will create work plans for and supervise the activities of HiAP Program Staff, serve as the point of contact for HiAP to the Council and Governor’s Office, manage meaningful relationships with HiAP partners, and implement health and racial equity practices in SGC and OPR.

  • Health and Equity Program Analyst

Under the direction of the Program Manager, the Program Analyst will focus on implementing the Racial Equity Action Plan into SGC Programs, participating in the Government Alliance on Race and Equity (GARE) and the Capitol Collaborative on Race and Equity (CCORE), maintain strong relationships with HiAP Partners in other agencies, and provide.

  • Health and Equity Program Associate

Under the direction of the Program Manager, the Program Associate will lead HiAP administrative functions, communicate regularly with agency partners, organize meetings and manage logistical processes, perform health and equity research and data collection, and help develop multi-agency action plans.

We are especially seeking candidates who have a background in public health, health equity, racial equity, strategic and collaborative partnerships, and tracking/measurement. If you have experience in these areas, please consider applying to join our diverse, mission-driven team at SGC. Visit the CalCareers website to read the job descriptions and minimum qualifications. The application deadline is January 13, 2020.
