Collaborative Vision
By bringing residents, community stakeholders, researchers, and local government together, the San Joaquin Regional Climate Collaborative (SJRCC) envisions a region where all communities live in equitable and healthy places filled with economic opportunity and are ready to meet the challenges posed by climate change. SJRCC aims to achieve this vision by fostering community-led solutions that meet the needs of those hit first and worst by climate change in under-resourced communities, including communities of color and low-income communities throughout San Joaquin County.
Project Plans
The collaborative seeks to establish a regional forum for climate resiliency coordination. The collaborative will engage and build capacity at multiple scale with residents, community-based organizations, and local implementing agencies. Planned activities include educational workshops, a community needs assessment, a regional climate research clearinghouse and directory, and the creation of neighborhood action plans. The collaborative will provide direct technical assistance in Communities of Focus to pursue further research and/or implementation funding opportunities.
