Convening Overview
Each Convening brings together approximately 150 regional leaders and state agency representatives to highlight regional case studies, share the work of the California Fifth Climate Change Assessment, enable participants to engage directly with state agencies, and to elevate land use, climate and energy priorities. The outcome of each Convening is a set of regional and state actions, guided by facilitated workshops using UC Berkeley Possibility Lab’s I.M.P.A.C.T. model. These actions will be presented to SGC’s Council upon the conclusion of the nine regional Convenings.
Goals
- Exchange knowledge, best practices, and successes about community-driven efforts.
- Connect directly with state representatives and regional assistance providers to learn about and better leverage available resources, upcoming grant programs, technical assistance and capacity building programs, active engagement opportunities, and more.
- Understand the region’s priorities and co-create a set of regional and state focused policy actions, to guide SGC’s strategic planning and work.
