$153.4 million in Awards Available for Community Resilience Centers Program Round 2 & Transformative Climate Communities Program Round 6
The California Strategic Growth Council is excited to announce that Notices of Funding Availability (NOFA) are now open for the Transformative Climate Communities (TCC) Round 6 and Community Resilience Centers (CRC) Round 2! Review the TCC Round 6 NOFA and CRC Round 2 NOFA to learn more. $153.4 million in awards is available between the two programs. Applications for TCC Round 6 are now being accepted! CRC Round 2 applications will open soon! Carefully review below for each program’s respective application due date.
About TCC
The TCC program empowers and prioritizes California’s most disadvantaged communities to choose their own strategies that achieve major environmental, health, and economic benefits while reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
Approximately $98.4 million available in funding for three (3) TCC grant types:
All TCC Applications are due: Sept. 30, 2026. Visit the TCC Round 6 webpage now to apply for a Planning Grant, Project Development Grant, or Implementation Grant.
Planning Grants – Grants up to $300,000 (two-year grant term)
- Eligible activities include building internal and external capacity, streamlining various policies and codes, fiscal impact analysis, preparing climate adaptation plans, designing community engagement plans, partnership development, community needs assessments, and feasibility studies.
Project Development Grants – Grants up to $5 million (two-year grant term)
- Eligible activities include pre-development activities, community engagement, feasibility studies, environmental assessments, development of operations and maintenance plans for infrastructure, acquiring tools and resources to increase partner capacity, access to financial services, securing technical assistance for partners, pilot projects, and access to basic environmental infrastructure.
Implementation Grants – Grants up to $27.5 million (six-year grant term)
- Eligible activities include multiple, coordinated projects that reduce greenhouse gas emissions and achieve other community benefits, including equitable housing, land acquisition, transit access, mobility, solar installation, energy/water efficiency, urban greening, community microgrids, and health and well-being activities. These activities will be implemented alongside required, funded community engagement, workforce development, and displacement avoidance activities.
About CRC
Building on knowledge gained from the first round of funding, CRC Round 2 offers Implementation and Planning Grants to grow neighborhood-level capacity for climate emergency preparedness. The CRC Program makes strategic investments to fund the planning, construction, and retrofit of community resilience centers and advance local communities’ long-term capacity to respond to and recover from climate emergencies. CRC applications will open July 2, 2026!
Approximately $55 million available in funding for two (2) CRC grant types:
Planning Grants – Grants of $100,000 to $500,000 (two-year grant term)
- Eligible activities include partnership development, community needs assessments, feasibility studies, site assessments, permitting, fiscal impact analysis, updating climate action plans, and designing community engagement plans. The goal is to prepare communities for future implementation of projects.
- Application Due Date: Sept. 4, 2026, at 11:59 p.m.
Implementation Grants – Grants of $1 million to $10 million (six-year grant term)
- Eligible activities include new construction and/or upgrades of Community Resilience Centers facilities, and the development of Campus Amenities that support use of the facility, and year-round services and programs that build overall community resilience.
- Application Due Date: Sept. 25, 2026 at 11:59 p.m.
Application Process
All application materials can be accessed via the online application platform, Submittable, which will be added to the programs’ webpages once live. TCC Implementation Grant applicants also require the submission of a Pre-Proposal. TCC Pre-Proposals are due June 30, 2026.
SGC will not accept late applications or application revisions after the application deadline.

Technical Assistance
Application Technical Assistance (TA) is available during the application period with priority given to Tribal applicants for both TCC and CRC. TCC will also prioritize applicants with Project Areas in disadvantaged unincorporated communities for Application TA. If you are interested in receiving Application TA, please complete the Application Technical Assistance Request Form, no later than July 31, 2026. SGC will connect applicants to the Application TA Provider on a rolling basis. SGC will have discretion to make final decisions on which applicants receive Application TA. Completion of the Technical Assistance Request Form does not guarantee that an applicant will receive TA, and receiving TA does not guarantee that an application will be awarded.
SGC will provide public resources available to all applicants to assist with the application process. These resources will be available on the CRC Application webpage and TCC Round 6 webpage.
