The California Agricultural Land Equity Task Force has conducted extensive community engagement to inform the development of its draft recommendations. The events and activities have included a Land Access Experiences Survey, site visits, and engagement sessions statewide with priority producers and Tribal land stewards. Community Engagement Sessions
The Task Force hosted engagement sessions statewide with a diverse range of farmers and Tribal land stewards to gain a deeper understanding of their challenges, resource needs, and feedback on the Task Force’s draft recommendations.
*The Task Force partnered with the University of California Agriculture and Natural Resources to expand capacity to host additional farmer and Tribal engagement sessions. A summary of these sessions will be available in July 2025.
Land Access Experience Survey report
Over 200 farmers and land stewards responded to the Land Access Experiences survey in English, Spanish and Chinese. The survey was open between October 2024-April 2025.

Insights on Agricultural Land Access and Stewardship Series
The California Strategic Growth Council’s Agricultural Land Equity Initiative administers a speaker series on agricultural land access and stewardship. Follow SGC’s social media for updates on upcoming presentations.
Site Visits
Task Force members conducted site visits statewide with farmers and Tribal land stewards to learn about their challenges and resource needs between May 2024-August 2025. Summaries are coming soon.
