SGC is thrilled to announce that the U.S Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has awarded SGC a $200,000 environmental justice grant to support Partners Advancing Climate Equity (PACE).
SGC launched the new capacity building and technical assistance program for frontline community leaders on November 5, 2020. The program will bring together a cohort of 20 community leaders who represent diverse organizations, focus areas, and regions to participate in facilitated trainings, peer-networking, and other capacity building activities.
SGC's California Climate Investments Technical Assistance Program (CCI TA) provides most of the funding for this program. The U.S. EPA grant will enable SGC to fund stipends of up to $8,000 for program participants.
In addition, SGC will use the grant to include resources and training materials to support under-resourced communities responding to the compounding impacts of COVID-19.
SGC held an informational webinar about the program on November 16, 2020, with nearly 370 registrants – half of whom expressed at least an initial interest in applying. The application closes on December 3, 2020.
